It is 3D secure technology which provides additional security level during transactions of payment cards on the Internet. Namely, additional verification is required, i.e. code, or some other security mechanism, which is obtained exclusively from the bank that issued the card to you.

Yes. E-mail with all transaction details is sent to you automatically. After shopping on the Internet check e-mail.

It is desirable to save bills and e-mails related to your e-shopping – it will be of use to you in case of a possible complaint.

Yes, but you have to talk to the service provider. The very process is executed by Chip Card, but only upon the Merchant’s request.

If you select the option of payment by payment cards, you will be automatically redirected to a protected Chip Card’s page for payment, via which transaction is processed in accordance with all the required security requests. On the protected, safe Chip Card’s page, you should enter the number of your card and other required data we have specified. The bank which issued the card will check your card and availability of assets on the account, and if you meet conditions for payment, the bank will reserve funds on your account in the payment amount. After completing the payment you will be redirected to the Merchant’s site where payment will be finished. At the end, you will receive an e-mail informing that the transaction was either successful or unsuccessful (payment confirmation).

Data security during online payment by cards is achieved in compliance with the currently available up-to-date technology, stipulated by card organizations, called 3D SECURE. The same manner and level of security provided by Chip card are applied by all the other leading world providers of e-commerce services. We can say that security guarantee, in addition to being provided by the very Chip Card company, is provided by card organizations (VISA and MasterCard), as well as the acquiring bank, since the whole transaction flow is executed by 3D SECURE rules, with constant monitoring of Chip Card’s risk team, together with acquiring bank’s risk team. In compliance with security requirements, never are data about payment card available to merchant’s system.

Chip Card is a processing house owned by the company Asseco SEE, which, as one of the largest IT companies in Serbia, has all the required certificates regarding security of the payment cards business (of which the most important is PCI DSS – Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). On the other hand, e-commerce standards which are applied are 3D SECURE – a set of standards that represents security and serves for preventing frauds (MC Secure Code and Visa Verified by Visa), and we accept and update its new versions.

Paying for products and services with payment cards on the Internet is as safe as on POS terminals in physical shops. Moreover, there are services for mediation of safe payment on the Internet, which provide a higher level of security in executing of transactions than traditional methods of payment. Also, laws especially related to electronic trade, which provide to consumers the same rights and the same level of protection as for traditional shopping are in force in Serbia (the right to guarantee, money return, complaint, agreement termination, and the like). The most important of the abovementioned laws are E-commerce Law, Consumer Protection Law, and Law on Personal Data Protection.

However, if you become the victim of fraud, data theft or misuse of payment card, you should act immediately! If you lose a payment card or notice “suspicious” items in the statements regarding account activities, call the bank that issued your payment card, consult with them and, if required, deactivate payment cards. It is useful to know that domestic laws (primarily Criminal Code) cover traditional criminal acts executed using computers and communication networks, but also criminal acts specific for information and communication technologies. If you suffer greater damage or detect any major fraud, you can contact a Special Department for High-Tech Crime at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, or file a complaint with a Special Department for High-Tech Crime of the High Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade. In the event of theft or misuse of personal data or, if you consider that actions of some merchant are not in compliance with The Law on Personal Data Protection, you can report the problem to the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection.
